Objective of speech mobile application

This mobile application, developed with MIT App Inventor, allows users to convert typed text into spoken words. The app provides a simple interface where users can enter text into a text box and press a button to hear the text spoken aloud by the device. It supports multiple languages and adjustable speech settings such as pitch and rate, enhancing accessibility for visually impaired users, language learners, and anyone who prefers auditory feedback. Description of application designer interface

The Speech Mobile Application allows users to type text into a mobile interface and hear it spoken aloud using the TextToSpeech extension. The interface is designed to be simple, clear, and user-friendly, supporting accessibility and ease of use for all types of users.

TextBox_Input

A TextBox for user text entry.

Hint: “Write your text here”

User types the text they want to hear spoken aloud.

Speak Button

Text: “Convert text to sound”

When pressed, triggers the TextToSpeech extension to read the text aloud.

Non-visible Component: TextToSpeech

From the Media drawer.

Description of application blocks part

Goal of the Program :

1- Allow users to type text into a TextBox.

2- When the user taps the “Speak” button, the app reads the text aloud using the TextToSpeech extension.

Explanation of Each Block

Block

Description

The block defines what happens when the user taps the button labeled Convert to Sound.

The block call TextToSpeech.Speak message is responsible for converting the text provided as ‘message’ into spoken audio. When this block runs, the TextToSpeech extension reads the given text out loud using the device’s speaker.
